Day five has me saying good-bye to an assortment of items. First, I'm getting rid of a set of five perfumes (and counting it as one since it is a set). I've never even opened this box and I know I've had it for years (at least before I came to grad school). I'm also getting rid of some lotion I've never used and that doesn't even have a smell anymore. Next going is a BlackBerry case; I haven't had a BlackBerry in over five years...why do I still own this!! I'm getting rid of a brush I've never used; I never liked how the bristles felt. Lastly, I'm getting rid of a small beanbag "It's A Bug Life" character.

Day Four - Minimalist Challenge
Day four has me getting rid of clothing that I haven't worn in years but kept just in case I wanted to wear it. I'm very excited to be using this challenge to get rid of clothing like this!
Day Three - Minimalist Challenge
Day three has me saying good-bye to my set of mostly broken luggage. There are three pieces here - a large, medium, and small suitcase. The large and medium pieces are broken, but I've still been using them. The smallest is in good condition - I've never used it! So, bye bye luggage. Note, the cat is not being given away. ;-)
Day Two - Minimalist Challenge
Day two sees me getting rid of two wallets that I have had since high school. I had to clean them out - found old receipts, locker combinations, high school stuff, etc. However, the only money I found was coins - bummer! But I did add them to my coin bank, so at least that was something. I have a bad habit of holding on to wallets and purses, even though I know I'll probably never use them again. Well, time to get rid of some of this extra stuff!
Day One - Minimalist Challange
Day one of the minimalist challenge sees me saying good-bye to this iPhone 4 OtterBox. I haven't owned an iPhone is roughly 3 years. The only reason I held on to this case was, because at the time of purchase, it was rather expensive (it is an OtterBox afterall!). However, why am I holding on to something that a) I cannot use any more and b) no one else can use (since iPhone 4's are basically obsolete).

Minimalist Challenge
I'm usually always late to the game anyways, so why should this be any different.
I know several people who did the minimalist challenge. Don't know what that is? Let me explain. For a month, you give away the number of items for that day. For example, on day one, you get rid of one thing. On day two, you get rid of two things. The challenge continues.
When my friends did this, I didn't want to play because I just couldn't imagine getting ride of my things. I have a bad habit of attaching sentimentality to almost everything. Thus, it makes it really hard to part with anything that I have.
However, it's time I de-clutter my life and get ride of some of the material things I've been holding on to for years. So, I'm finally doing the minimalist challenge for the month of August. I'm starting four days late, but no worries, I'll make it up!
